Doctors
At Independence Care Center, we provide round-the-clock medical care in our skilled nursing facility. Our Medical Director and attending physicians are on-call 24/7 to closely monitor residents’ medical conditions. A care extender, such as a Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, is available throughout the day to ensure prompt attention to any acute medical problems, thereby reducing the need for hospitalization.
Residents are evaluated promptly upon admission and continuously as needed. Our specialized approach to pain management addresses conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, circulatory disorders, paralysis, and contractures. Each resident receives a comprehensive plan developed to relieve pain and improve quality of life.
Our Medical Department is supported by a dedicated nursing staff and numerous allied health care professionals. We also provide access to specialists in ophthalmology, optometry, audiology, cardiology, dermatology, pulmonology, and urology. Many medical and laboratory tests are conducted on-site to reduce the stress and frustration of multiple appointments.
